Sunday February the 12th marked the 59th edition of the biggest night in music, The Grammy Awards. This year's edition was aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (Feb. 12). Artists from around the world receives accolades for their achievements.

Adele opened the show with a big performance of her hit single "Hello," which also got her Best Pop Solo Performance trophy. Lalah Hathaway won Best R&B Album of the year with her Lalah Hathaway Live LP.

Maxwell's "Lake By The Ocean" got him the Best R&B Song of the year and Solange's "Cranes in the sky" won Best R&B Performance.

Beyoncé had nine nominations including Album, Record and Song of the Year categories.
