Singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Cautious Clay returns with new track “Karma & Friends” and announces that his highly anticipated debut album, Deadpan Love, is due out for release on June 25, 2021.

Drawing from R&B, hip hop, and leftfield indie pop, Cautious Clay has previously collaborated with the likes of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, John Legend, and John Mayer and has built a reputation for his poetic and emotionally honest music defined by his sophisticated songwriting, soulful singing, and cinematic sound all displayed on his upcoming debut Deadpan Love.

Backed by a host of notable co-writers including Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele, HAIM), Jesse Shatkin (Sia, Kelly Clarkson), Jim-E Stack (Caroline Polachek, Empress Of), and Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, FINNEAS), Deadpan Love includes previously released singles “Roots,” “Dying In The Subtlety,” and “Agreeable” and finds Cautious confidently owning his sound and expressing his ideas in his most assured and direct way yet.

The 14-track LP, which includes a feature with Chicago rapper Saba ("Strange Love"), references 80’s and 90’s sound and was made both prior to and during the pandemic.

Taking time for select acting work, Cautious Clay is currently in production on the second season of the critically acclaimed Forest Whitaker drama, “The Godfather of Harlem.” Cautious will reprise his role from the first season and create original recordings of Jazz songs from the period for use in the show.

Music by Cautious Clay combines R&B, hip-hop and experimental indie with bold, honest, and soulful vocals. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Cautious Clay currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
