10-time Grammy Award-winning artist Chaka Khan has canceled her concert at the California State Fair two days before the show after announcing she entered into rehab for drug addiction according to the Fair officials.
The message was received by the Fair officials from Khan's rep Saturday, that the singer can't make it and was entering rehabilitation and aftercare program for addiction to prescription pain medication, said the Cal Expo spokesman Sabrina Rodriguez.
Khan who was scheduled to perform at the State Fair on Monday night also had her additional performances for July canceled.
"What ends up happening is that we get this announcement and we work on finding a suitable performance replacement as soon as we can," Rodriguez said. Grammy Award-winner Jody Watley featuring Shalamar Reloaded will perform in Khan’s place, Rodriguez continued.
All ticket purchases will be refunded within a week according to Rodriguez.
We wish Khan a speedy recovery.
